Guy Hammersley, BIM Director at BRE finds out how Willmott Dixon benefits from their three recent BIM certifications for Construction, Partnership Homes and Interiors. Garry Fannon, Richard Kelsey and Amador Caballero speak about BIM Level 2 Business Systems Certification as a natural step in their company’s progression and BIM commitments towards their customers.
BIM Level 2 is government-driven, but are you embracing BIM as a business opportunity?
BIM for us has always been about the opportunity to improve the way we design, plan, construct and handover our buildings. The first thing we did as a business when we were planning to implement BIM was to look at the benefits to a construction business.
Why have you sought BIM certification?
We sought certification for a number of reasons. To demonstrate our capability to our customers, to establish a milestone in our BIM implementation across three business areas and demonstrate the ability to deliver a BIM level 2 project from any office in any sector.
What has BRE Global certificated?
Willmott Dixon Construction and we achieved BIM Level 2 business systems certification.
What other benefits do you see from being certified?
We do not need to complete the standard PAS 91 Table 8 PQQ questions, it raises our BIM profile within the Construction Industry and delivers confidence to our customers that we have been independently certified.
