Energy management – back to basics

The control of energy in buildings is generally poor, despite the availability of a range of tried and tested systems incorporating both mature and innovative technologies. Building controls are designed to provide a comfortable climate for building occupants while ensuring this is delivered with the lowest possible energy consumption.

BRE’s Dr. Andy Lewry, a fellow of the Energy Managers Associaton (EMA) has looked into the options and approaches of the procurement of building controls.

Driven by the saving energy trends, this guide is part of a series of ten EMA Guides to Energy Management for energy management professionals to develop a better understanding around best practices, energy efficient products and technologies.
