Four BREEAM projects are recognised in the prestigious performance-based Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) awards.
Focused on actual, measured performance, not design intent, the CIBSE Awards acknowledge the people, products and projects that drive outstanding energy performance in the built environment.
Judges including Munish Datta, Head of Sustainability at M & S, Professor Bill Gething of University of the West of England, Hwyel Davies of CIBSE and others selected four BREEAM excellent projects for awards:
- Premier House, Twickenham which was named Refurbishment Project of the Year (value over £5m)
- University of East London’s Stratford Library which won the New Build Project of the Year (value up to £10m)
- The Quadrant office building, Milton Keynes which was awarded New Build Project of the Year (value over £10m)
- BBC Broadcasting House for the Collaborative Working Partnership Award
Director of BREEAM Gavin Dunn said ‘Congratulations to all the award winners. I am very pleased to see so many BREEAM buildings in the winners line up – a testament to the robustness of the BREEAM standard for delivering real in-use energy efficiency.’
