BRE Technical Notes

Technical Notes are produced by BRE to enable the recognition of certain technologies in SAP and/or RdSAP assessments. These are normally required due to particular complexities related to the technology’s assessment that cannot easily be handled by SAP/RdSAP specifications.

By their nature, Technical Notes are normally temporary (on the basis that future versions of SAP can incorporate recognition) and may therefore incorporate validity terms. Each Technical Note incorporates a technical justification section, followed by instructions for SAP/RdSAP assessors.

The below list of Technical Notes indicates whether a particular Technical Note is applicable to SAP or RdSAP.

If a particular technology, which might be a subject to a Technical Note is found in a dwelling, assessors must check the below list to determine whether the technology is included and whether it is applicable to the type of assessment. If applicable, they must download a copy of each Technical Note as appropriate and follow the instructions contained within it.
